Hammers react to Carroll story

Andy Carroll is this morning being linked AGAIN with a move back to Newcastle where Alan Pardew is allegedly ready to pay £15 million.

However, sources at West Ham have immediately denied any contact with the player’s former club.

This one has of course been rumbling around for several days and this time sources are claimed to be saying that Pardew belives he can persuade the Hammers to sell the No 9.

An Upton Park source told ClaretandHugh: “Newcastle weren’t involved when he was available  last summer and we have received no indication that they are this year.

“There have certainly been no inquiries but of course this one is always going to represent a story  so it comes as no surprise to us.

“As is always the case there can be no serious comment until we receive an enquiry or offer.”

The one thing that may give The People story a little more credence is that is was written by a man who worked on the leading Newcastle local paper for many years and has good Newcastle sources.
