Andy Carroll gave the Irons a precious half time lead with  a well taken goal which had been gifted him courtesy of a dreadful Paul Konchesky back pass.

The defender’s attempted back pass to his keeper was well short and the big Geordie leapt onto his mistake to stride on and place his shot past the advancing Hamer.

The “move” for the goal had started after Winston Reid made a brilliant block from Cambiasso and followed a huge punt from the back.

The Foxes had started quickly without creating clear cut chances and the Irons shaded things over the first period although Adrian had to be at his best to save well from Mahrez’s whose shot takes a nick off Tomkins and flew goalwards at pace.
