Irons defensive worry deepens ahead of Gunners clash

Sam Allardyce is hoping that Guy Demel is over a sickness bug ahead of tomorrow’s  game against Arsenal .

With Carl Jenkinson unavailable to play against his parent club, Demel will be very much in contention to play ahead of Joey O’Brien.

He is seen as a more attacking full back and the Hammers will need to carry the game to the Gunners as they bid to grab three points.

But a source told us that the right back was sick ahead of the Chelsea game which may have provided him with some much needed match action ahead of the visit by the north Londoners.

He said: “Carl obviously can’t play so it would seem that either Guy or Joey will be drafted in but of course you can never tell with Sam!”
