Leroy: Wenger must be sick – Song looks a legend

That was quite simply the best game seen at The Boleyn for many years and every single Hammer was a man of the match.

Alex Song took the official award and rightly so – the lad was absolutely amazing and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger must be wondering why on earth  he didn’t re-sign him.

Never mind Fabregas – Song is the man. But right behind him was James Collins making some quite incredible interventions with every single player flinging himself behind the ball as City tried to turn the screw . WE WERE AMAZING!

Up front Enner Valencia was magical at times and as for Sakho, there really are no words for the bloke – they must have made up the expression ‘goal machine’ just for him .

But the real point to take from this game is that West Ham are now a quality team. They battle their guts out but that will only ever take you so far and there is serious skill in this side which can keep them in the top four or five for a few weeks to come and perhaps even until the end of the season.

The new signings are the whole key to what’s happening at the club. They have brightened everybody and everything up. Even Carlton Cole poured his heart out for the team and Kevin Nolan – despite only appearing for seven minutes – produced two amazing block tackles.

I’m loving this but I’ve been in the game far too long to get carried away. West ham are a great team but there’s a very long way to go.

However, it really is a great time to be an Iron!
