This interview with former West Ham physiotherapist Rob Jenkins talks about the old days when the physio was based in a flat at 540 Green Street above Bobby Moore’s sports shop. Rob explains how his dad rented the flat from Bobby’s agent, Jack Turner for nine pounds per week. Rob took over from his dad in 1966 when his father passed away, he explains how Ron Greenwood came around his house, had a cup of tea and offered him £20 per week to take over from his dad. Rob’s son Billy is still in the flat to this day but didn’t follow in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps. Rob also recalls a day in 1969 in the Princess Hotel in Bermuda when Mooro was mistaken as a drummer from the hotel band.

Rob stood down as first-team physio in 1990 after 1,750 matches but only properly retired in 2015 after a 51 year association with the club. The short film is directed by Tom Godfrey and published on the Sports Gazzette TV youtube channel
