West Ham’s Player of the Year Mark Noble has told co-chairman David Sullivan he doesn’t share his view that the Irons suffered a “disappointing season.”

ClaretandHugh reported earlier today that Sullivan had said he’d “cried” during this campaign and that he had been disappointed with the team.

Claiming that they had to get better Sullivan added he would make the money available to do so

But Noble, who also collected the Player’s Player of the Year award, said during his acceptance interview with Ben Shephard: “I know Mr Sullivan came up here and spoke quite negatively about us all but I am sure he is going to put his hand in his pocket over the summer.’

And he made it clear that as far as he was concerned this had not been a disappointing season.

He explained: “We are in 12th place after being in the bottom three in December and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried.

“We had a meeting at the training ground and with the spirit we have we pulled ourselves out of it. let’s remember too we were without AC for 90 per cent of the season.

“It’s important we have a good next season and I believe we will have new players in.”
