Ravel’s QPR play-off absence explained
Speculation arose that the England under-21 midfielder may be in trouble at the west London outfit after missing out on the action during the club’s play-off victory against Derby County last Saturday.
However, despite that, a permanent move to Loftus Road remains very much in the balance.
ClaretandHugh was told exclusively: “Harry told Rav on Friday evening he wouldn’t be starting but that he wanted to bring him on twenty minutes or so from the end should things have go as planned.
“Rav has a groin injury which is quite deep. It means he can play through it for a spell but then feels it when he comes off. Harry said he couldn’t risk him from the start as it may flair up at half time.
“Rav was p….d off about that but accepted the decision. However, with Gary O’Neill’s sending-off the whole game plan changed and Harry went another way.”
In the meantime the player’s advisers are waiting to see whether a summer bid will emerge from Loftus Road for the midfielder with West Ham wanting around £8 million.
Our source said: “Ravel needs a good rest which is the answer to the groin problem – we will have to wait and see about a possible Rangers bid although there is interest from a couple of other clubs.”
