Sam: Another year…and that may be that!

Unless the unthinkable became a reality and the Hammers were relegated this season we can probably expect no more than another 12 months of Sam Allardyce as the Boleyn boss.

But from everything I hear around the club, the end of next season is probably as long as the man from Dudley has got.

There have been some very enlightening conversations going on recently and it is becoming increasingly clear from many that our current footballing modus operandi can’t go on.

Thus far it has served a purpose in getting us back to the Premier League but ClaretandHugh has been told that there will be no contract extension for Sam this summer should we remain in the Premier League.

We were told by a  trusted source that whilst the manager is liked, the one dimensional style of football can’t go on for ever.

He said: “He has a year left on his contract at the end of the season and there won’t be any extension on offer.

” Eventually we are going to need to go in a different direction. Sam is well liked but the Roberto Martinez style is one we’d like to see.

“Should we stay in the League this season he has another year on his contract and after that it will be time to take a view.”
