Sam can’t see anyone leaving.. ah here comes Hull

Sam Allardyce’s half assurances that he expected no departures from the club before the window closes look a little frail this morning.

The manager said at his press conference yesterday: “At the moment I can’t see anyone going the other way.”

The comment came after he claimed there was money in the budget for one more quality player.

Soon afterwards stories were doing the rounds that West Ham and Spurs were interested in Alex Song.

And despite the manager’s comment about it being unlikely anybody would be leaving rumours then arose that Hull City had moved for Mohamed Diame.

ClaretandHugh was able to confirm earlier this morning that was the case and it’s clear another offer could be on the way at the trigger price of £3.5 million.

Ah the joys of the summer transfer market – sometimes it seems the left hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing – even if its the one of them may be that of someone directly involved.
