Spurs striker on Irons radar

West Ham are set to make a fresh move for free agent Emanuel Adebayor in the summer.

The Spurs striker was a loan target until the end of the campaign in the January transfer window but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy played hardball on wages wanting the Irons to foot his entire wage of £100k a week.

However, the player is out of contract in the summer and will have to take a cut on his wages at 31 years old which gives the Hammers negotiators a shout at concluding a deal.

Carlton Cole looks a certain departure with West Brom’s Tony Pulis still interested and the the Irons know we have to get quality cover in for Andy Carroll.

Adebayor will doubtless have plenty of offers from clubs in the middle east and US but may feel he has a case to make in the Premier League.

However, a Hammers source told ClaretandHugh exclusively: “He interests us and anything is possible in the summer.”
