The Dimtri Payet song was born at the Crystal Palace v West Ham victory on 17th October 2015, although Arsenal fans have recently nicked the tune and the vast majority of words for the Ozil song, the tune and some of the words were previously used by Newcastle United, Manchester City, Cardiff City and Celtic over the past four years. Obviously, it all started with Billy Ray Cyrus when released the 1992 hit ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ which won the Grammy record of the year.

Lyrics:“We’ve got Payet, Dimitri Payet! I just don’t think you understand. He’s Super Slavs man, he’s better than Zidane. We’ve got Dimtri Payet!”

Arsenal plagiarized most of the lyrics of Dimtri Payet song for Mesut Ozil although the mainstream press and Ozil himself seemed oblivious to this fact with some hailing the Ozil chant as the football chant of the season. Lyrics: “We’ve got Ozil, Mesut Ozil, I just dont think you understand, He’s Arsene Wenger’s man, He’s better than Zidane, We’ve got Mesut Ozil”

Slightly lazy of them not to come up with a German player than rhymes with man!  Ozil himself tweeted a few days ago “Heard about that brilliant song! I have to say I’m more than proud to have you as our fans. Keep singing on!!”

Newcastle United had a similar chant to the tune of Achy Breaky heart. It was sung at the away victory at The Boleyn ground in January 2014 and previously at Old Trafford in December 2013. Lyrics:“”Don’t Sell Cabaye, Yohan Cabaye, I Just Don’t Think You Understand, That If You Sell Cabaye, Yohan Cabaye, You’re Gonna Have A Riot On Your Hands!”

Manchester City had a similar song too about Joe Hart before he re-signed a new contract. The song emerged in 2014 with the Lyrics “Dont sell Joe Hart, Our super Joey Hart, I just don’t think you’ll understand, and if you sell Joe Hart, Our super Joey Hart, You’ll have a f***g riot on your hands”

Cardiff City also used the tune for the song ‘Don’t sack Malky Mackay’ in a Liverpool game in 2013.Lyrics: “Don’t sack Mackay Malky Mackay, I just don’t think you understand, dont sack Mackay, Malky Mackay you’re gonna have a riot on your hands”

Newcastle, Man City and Cardiff appear to have borrowed the tune from Celtic who sung a song about Paddy McCourt in May 2012 during the Adam Drury Testimonial.
Lyrics:”Don’t sell McCourt, Paddy McCourt.”
“I just don’t think you understand, Cause if you sell McCourt,”
“Paddy McCourt . You’re gonna have a riot on your hands”

Celtic may be borrowed the idea from Manchester United who first did this song first in 2010.Lyrics:”Don’t sell my Park, My Ji-Sung Park, I just don’t think you understand, And if you sell my Park, My Ji-Sung Park, You’re gonna have a riot on your hands!”

Let’s not forget we all borrowed the song from Billy Ray Cyrus in 1992 so respect to Billy!
