Albian Ajeti comes from a footballing family. His two brothers both defenders also used to play for FC Basel – the older one, Arlind, nows plays for Swiss club Grasshoppers, and his twin Adonis is playing for Swiss club St. Gallen where Albian used played.

Ajeti signed a four and a half year contract with FC Augsburg in 2016 and was loaned to St. Gallen on a one-year loan with the option for the club to buy the player. At the end of the season St. Gallen signed him permanently.

In 2017, Basel announced that Ajeti had re-signed a five-year contract.

He comes from Kosovo, but represents Switzerland – although all of them could switch his allegiance with Kosovo. Albian is a homegrown player of FC Basel. He has represented Switzerland at  U-15, U-16, U-17, U18, U20, U21 levels in the past, while he is currently a senior Swiss international making 3 appearances since his debut in 2018.

Ajeti has netted 45 goals in 79 starts and 28 substitute appearances in his career so far making 21 assists in the process. He scored 14 goals last season for Basel and has bagged two already this campaign.
