Wage cap bites as Irons look to bring in FIVE or SIX

West Ham have sufficient cash under their current wage cap to bring in three or  four new players this summer.

And the owners hopes of bringing in FIVE or SIX will depend heavily on offloading some of the current squad.

As reported on ClaretandHugh last night, the club are currently talking to four left backs and also want to create competition in all other areas of the pitch.

But a top Boleyn source revealed to us exclusively: “Transfer fees are not the problem. It’s on wages  that things get tough.

“The owners have always dug up the money for fees where required – their record shows that but there is a wage cap in place which can’t be exceeded.

“That means that unless players are moved out there is sufficient wage cash available for three or four new arrivals.

“But the aim has always been to bring in five or six and that remains the case. Hopefully there will be some interest in the likes of Mo Diame, Ricardo Vaz Te and others as the summer proceeds.”
