Report: New striker on Hammers radar

West Ham are reported to be showing a big interest in Lorient forward Abdul Majeed Waris.

Despite earlier claims that the spending is close to coming to an end, the Mail is reporting that the 25 year old is on the club’s radar.

However, both Bromwich Albion and Burnley are also keen on the Ghana international who has been something of a revelation since joinig the French club after a single season in Turkey.

The pacy front man – who can operate through the middle or down the wing –  is believed to be rated at £12m by Lorient and,all three clubs have made enquiries during the past seven days.

He has scored 21 goals in 58 games for Lorient and has been tracked by Celtic, Brighton and Fulham too in recent months.

He  scored four times in 29 games for Trabzonspor as his career has taken off in Francei.

Waris has earned 22 caps for Ghana, scoring four times and making the squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
