Abraham wages could cause big problem

Tammy Abraham – currently understood to be  on £140k a week at Chelsea – would cost the Hammers around £62 million over a four year contract  unless the Stamford B|ridge club lower their asking fee and the player a pay cut.

The 23 year old remains the most fancied of the candidates to arrive as a striker but it looks very unlikely unless the both events take place.

However, that will be very unlikely even in a covid market and with David Moyes having claimed there’s no chance of a deal aty £40 million other targets will seemingly have to emerge.

The Irons reportedly want to make Declan Rice top earner at around £150 k a week  but with likes of Tomas Soucek on less than £100 k there could be some dressing room unrest if a deal is done on the sort of terms that may be required to bring Abraham in.

Andriy Yarmolenko is currently top earner at the London Stadium on £115k a week.
