African Irons will leave big hole

West Ham will be looking towards January and February hoping and praying that things have gone well in the early part of the season.Although it’s been a long time since the Irons have had players involved in any of the home international teams, the demands on their squad could be an important factor to their season when the African Nations Cup comes around.Qualification for the 2015 African Cup on Nations is underway and should Senegal, the Cameroon and Ivory Coast reach the final our squad will missing some key players.The competition could comes at a more inconvenient time of the season (January 17 to February 8 in Morocco)  and this time round the Irons face games against Hull City, Liverpool and Manchester United.

With players missing for up to a month and the ever-present injury threat, Sam Allardyce will be keeping a careful eye on Alex Song (Cameroon) and Diafra Sakho and Chiekhou Kouyate (Senegal)
