All-expenses Jamaican jaunt for Irons medic

West Ham’s head of medical services Richard Collinge was despatched to the Caribbean Island of Jamacia on a club all-expenses-paid trip with the sole purpose of making sure Michail Antonio’s precious legs survived the extra workload when on international duty.

Mikey has a history of hamstring problems and West Ham manager David Moyes didn’t want to take any chances with his only striker.

A club source told the Sun newspaper: “Richard was there, on hand, to make sure everything went well and to be on hand in case there were any issues.”

I am sure the doctor didn’t take too much persuading for his Caribean jaunt and his colleagues will be queuing up to volunteer for the next home game.

Antonio has stayed fit so far this season and scored six goals for the Hammers missing only one match through suspension.

Moyes will hope it stays take way but will need to use him sparingly over the next few weeks if he wants his man to keep on scoring.
