Sam Allardyce won’t rule out spending big on one player again this year but has indicated it’s unlikely!

Answering questions on his transfer policy and whether he would change things this summer, he said: “Not really. Depending on the season and what plays out in the market, it may be spread across the board a bit more, yes, but that market may not allow you to do that.

And he added: “When one particular player makes a play to come to your club at the size and talent of that particular player then you go for it.

“In the end, you have to wait at that particular time and negotiate at that particular time to see if you can move that player.

“I think Andy’s signing was one of few players that we’ve signed which were no.1 or no.2 on the list.

“Our list in each position is accumulated and then you start to move forward on that list.”

Allardyce has already lined up targets but won’t move on any until  the club is secure from relegation.

He aid:  “At the moment we aren’t mathematically safe and can’t put those plans in practice.”
