Anderson boost but Storm Ciara may have a say

Felipe Anderson is being tipped as having an outside chance of making it into the squad for the match at Manchester City on Sunday.

Realistically, the Brazilian looks more likely to appear after the winter break but we are hearing that he is ahead of his  schedule and has some sort of chance, however, remote, of being with the squad at the Etihad.

That’s assuming of course the match actually gets played given the appalling weather forecast for the weekend when Storm Ciara is predicted to bring 80 mph winds and torrential rain.

Any security problems that may bring could see the match called off but assuming the game goes ahead we are more likely to see new signing Jarrod Bowen in the side than Anderson who is clearly more match fit.

Despite being ruled out for a month however, Anderson is desperately keen to make a difference on Sunday and has a chance.

The Brazilian shone in Moyes’s first game back in charge, scoring his first goal of the season in a 4-0 win over Bournemouth. His only Premier League appearance since then – the 1-0 defeat by Sheffield United – saw him sustain the injury.

Throughout, Moyes has been desperate to add some creative flair to his midfield and with Bowen in the squad along with the elegant Soucek he will be hoping for far more flair from his beleaguered outfit.
