Michail Antonio has expressed his bitter disappointment for the Irons defenders after seeing the striker mess up against Arsenal.

Both he and Seb Haller are cheesed off at their inability  to convert any of the numerous opportunities which came their way at the Emirates.

Mikey was quick though to praise the defence who produced a great performance and one very different to those seen earlier in the season.

Antonio causes huge problems to any defence but knows we have to rediscover the sort of touch we saw against Southampton although remains convinced and confident we will escape relegation.

Sunday sees us go into action against a team undefeated in London since their Premier League return – Wolves – but the striker is convinced that if the team carries on as it has done over recent games all things are possible.

Despite the defeat, Antonio believes that, should the Irons repeat the standard of their showing in their nine remaining league games, they will prove more than capable of securing their Premier League status.

He has been talking on the official site about things and said at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/march/08-march/michail-antonio-we-showed-our-belief-arsenal: “I feel that we played very well and had some good opportunities that we didn’t take.

“We took our chances against Liverpool and our chances against Southampton, but today [Saturday] we didn’t take them, and we got punished for it.

“Obviously, we brought the performances we gave against Liverpool and Southampton into this week, but we just didn’t take opportunities when we had them.

“With the games that are coming up, and the performances that we’ve been giving, if we keep doing what we’re doing, we’ll easily finish in the Premier League.”

“Our defenders did unbelievably today. The strikers are just going to have to take it on board and be better.”
