Four weeks ago Slaven Bilic indicated to reporters that a new deal for Michail Antonio was imminent but more recently the Hammer has been coy about his contract position

He told Sky Sports “Right now, nothing is really happening on the contract talks. We’ll just see how things go. At the moment my head is not being swayed in any way. I just want to play my football and whatever happens, happens. We’ll see.”

In January Slaven Bilic was asked by reporters whether a new deal is close for Michail Antonio. Slav answered: “(he is) in a good position for a new deal and he deserves it. It’s a club decision of course but from me it has a big time green light to sign a new deal with us. I don’t know all those details about it, I leave it to the chairman but I hope it is close, well I hope it is done but I see no problem there because he is the one that totally deserves it, with his behaviour, with his work rate, with his quality and at the end of the day with his goals and assists he is providing us. ”

The deal on the table is said to be a five a half year deal worth £70,000 per week to the 26 year old.
