Half time

Irons 1 Burnley 0

Game likely to come too soon for Mikey

Mikey Antonio’s close range goal – his first since returning from injury – gave the Irons a well deserved half time lead against a Burnley team bringing very little to the table.

The No 30 bundled the ball in at the far post after Bowen had set up Fornals to provie a perfect cross.

The Hammers were always on top of things despite the visitorsernjoying the majority of the first hal possession but in Antonio, Fornals, and a very lively Benrahma we were always the more threatening side with Oggy unlucky to see a header rebound off the upright.

The Clarets carved out one chance which went wide and another comfortably saved before having a ‘goal’ ruled out for offside – no VAR required.

Fornals in particular was in fine form and probably enjoying his best game for the club whilst Oggy was outstanding at the back alongside the impressive Craig Dawson.

They had little trouble at all at the back whist Soucek and Rice looked after midfield during an impressive 45 minutes.
