Well well well, finally Sky gets the message we gave you last week – Michail Antonio is going nowhere.

The TV broadcaster followed up a story published in The Times claiming the player wanted out of the London Stadium last week but today has changed its line after talking to the player’s representatives.

When the initial story broke we explained the  facts in a piece of our own sources on the same day which can be found at https://www.claretandhugh.info/antonio-unhappiness-the-truth/

Now Sky Sports claims they have been told by Antonio’s representatives he would sign a new deal if it was worth £70,000-a-week.

The broadcaster reports a source from the Antonio camp as saying the contract on the table was “well below that value” but insist this has not driven him to force a move from the club.

And he adds that although the figures aren’t correct Antonio will remain at the Olympic Stadium despite the pause in talks.

He said: “Antonio will be going nowhere. He’s a valued member of Slaven [Bilic’s] side.”
