Michail Antonio is hoping to rejoin first team training over the next few days.

The high energy midfielder is desperate to get back into action and is expected to rejoin the squad later in the week as he prepares for a post-international break return to action.

The 30 year old is now fully recovered from the hamstring injury he received at Newport in the Carabao Cup back in August and according to one insider we spoke to this morning “absolutely raring to get back into training.”

As reported earlier on the site Michail has been working to his own schedules since surgery and is set to return within a month or six weeks of the predictions.

It’s a remarkable recovery and one which is badly needed as the manager looks to take the weight off Seb Haller up front.

Meanwhile, with the under 23s travelling to Exeter City on Wednesday night for a Leasing.com Trophy match there may be the opportunity for Winston Reid to play in his second competitive match as he continues his recovery.
