Are Hammers board waiting for Everton development?

ClaretandHugh follower Selsdon Hammer wonders whether the Hammers areq quietly hoping events at Everton could save them the problem of firing David Moyes.

And like many he believes that we are suffering a bad Groundhog Day scenario as the season totters towards real problems.

Every West Ham match day can currently be re-named Groundhog Day!

It’s the same set of problems all the time – predictable team and formation, a lazy start, very slow build up play, questionable tactics and substitutions, many shots but few on target and losing at the death. Furthermore, we no longer score from corners.

As a result David Moyes is looking increasingly like an out-of-date manager who cannot adapt with a mainly old school support team.

He seems unable to shake off the defensive mindset he has adopted throughout his career and has been found out by the opposition.

I imagine that the Board are hoping that Everton sack Lampard and approach Moyes which would save it the indignity, and cost, of sacking him.

And by the way former Hammer  (and Toffee) Nikola Vlasic added insult to injury last night when scoring and providing an assist last night.

He was another player who never got a break under Moyes despite this manager bringing him in for around £25 million.
