West Ham has finally agreed a transfer fee to sign a striker after a 1,079 day wait.

The Hammers have agreed to fork out up to £35.6m to 23-year-old Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, with personal terms yet to be finalised.

The last striker to be signed was Albian Ajeti  who joined the Hammers in 2019only later to be sold to Celtic at a loss. Sebastien Haller was signed a month earlier in July 2019.

West Ham will pay an initial £30.6m in instalments with another £5m in potential add-ons for the striker who scored 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances last season for the Italian side.

The deal includes a 10 per cent sell-on clause for Sassuolo but would be restricted to any profit made from any future sale only.

The forward is thought to have been offered a five year contract until 2027 with wages reported in Italy as being around £49,000 per week.

It appears that Moyes has decided to pass on Armando Broja with a double striker swoop thought to be unlikely.

Scamacca will now travel to London to complete a medical, finalise his personal terms and hopefully put pen to paper in the coming days.
