AWOL Sakho could face hefty £54,000 fine

Diafra Sakho could be fined two weeks wages for travelling to France today without the club’s permission.

Today was a normal training day at Rush Green and assuming Sakho is in France as widely reported he will be most likely to face the maximum fine of two weeks wages costing him £54,000.

Early reports from Sky have suggested he has passed a medical with Rennes together with a photo which appeared to resemble a hospital ahead of a potential £9m move with later reports – confirmed by CandH – that Crystal Palace have come in with a fresh £10m bid.

However, as reported earlier by ClaretandHugh and confirmed by David Sullivan and David Gold to us exclusively the club has no intention of selling Diafra Sakho and have rejected all bids and enquiries to date.

And other club sources say no permission has been given for Sakho to speak to other clubs and he would be in breach of his contract to travel to France without permission.
