Ayew looks to have picked up trouble

Andre Ayew could be missing from the Irons team which takes on Huddersfield next Monday night.

The Ghana international’s run of poor form continued against the Congo in a World Cup qualifier last week – a performance that was widely condemned by supporters of his nation on Twitter.

Ayew was taken off with 25 minutes to go and many fans were calling for his retirement from the international football.

Now it has emerged that the £20 million signing is believed to be suffering from muscle fatigue following the disappointing 1-1 draw.

The midfielder has been consistently disappointing in claret and blue this season and the “injury” now looks to be likely to see him rested with Cheik Kouyate fully fit and ready to step up.
