Ayew reckons team must learn from mistakes…oh PLEASE!

Andrew Ayew has turned over a very  new leaf on the pitch with three goals in two games – one a magical strike from distance at Palace which warmed our hearts.

Off it however, he, no doubt to be followed by various others players over the next couple of days, are reading from the same old script, and it really does get on your nerves.

After Palace’s nonsensesical 97th minute goal, which really shouldn’t happen in an under 17 game, the £20 million signing reckoned we should “learn from our mistakes.” Oh PLEASE!

Commenting on the official website he mentioned the usual cliche about it feeling like a defeat adding: “We’re disappointed. It was a tough game, and it’s always difficult to hold to the end when you come out after half-time and concede a goal inside the first five minutes.”

Well Andre, maybe we shouldn’t have been trying to hold on but instead giving it a right go – best form of defence being attack and all that!

Then came the big one: “We need to forget about the disappointment and correct what we did badly in the second half when we play Liverpool next week.

“We didn’t hold the ball as well as we did in the first half and that put our defenders under pressure the whole time. We’ll learn from that.

“The response to Brighton has been not bad, because of the victory we had at Wembley, but to be honest we should have left Crystal Palace with three points and had two wins in a row.”

Great so 10 games in we are still making mistakes which ensure we lose points and have to learn from them.

Sorry, that doesn’t wash with me or I suspect many others”
