West Ham expect a conclusion to the Said Benrahma transfer saga within 24 hours.
Intensive final negotiations are continuing between the two clubs after a series of offers have been made – one including a previously hitherto unheard of extra.
We have learned that the club initially offered to pay Brentford a straight £8 million rather than a sell on percentage should the player ever be sold were he to become a West Ham player.
That was rejected by Brentford who continue to drive a hard bargain on the Algerian but the Hammers are now determined to settle things one way or the other hopefully by this time tomorrow (Thursday).
Brentford are in a position to drive a tough deal as they trade players and have already cashed in big time on striker Ollie Watkins who joined his former Bees boss Dean Smith at Aston Villa at around £31 million.
The Hammers have now offered £25m plus £5m of addons and are now in the last stages of negotiations.
