West Ham will be faced with a near half empty stadium when Silkeborg visit for the Conference clash tomorrow evening.

Having attracted a crowd of around 45,000 for the last home against Anderlecht the club expect the numbers to be down to 35,000 for the clash with the Danes.

The match is clearly being seen as a little meaningless but in reality, it is a game that still matters very much if we are to avoid the round of 32.

A source has this afternoon told Claret and Hugh: “It’s a big shame as we still need a draw to win the group and avoid an extra round. The fans see it as a meaningless game, but it that’s not the case at all.”

David Moyes will need to put out a strong side against Silkeborg who have been very much in form this season despite losing their last game and hopefully a few thousand more fans will take up the option before kick-off.
