Sam Allardyce has weighed in the Raheem Sterling debate by telling Sky Sports  he  feels that the demands put on today’s young players need to be managed so that they have an injury-free development

Allardyce said: “Today’s world of football is so quick, it demands so much physically and mentally that if a young man is still developing and when I say developing, not his talent but his muscular development, his body is still growing, his muscles are still growing, his bones are still growing. If you over tax that and he gets certain types of injury early on his career which could be detrimental to his career, it could shorten his career which we don’t want to see”
