Big Sam thanks West Ham fans

Sam Allardyce has thanked West Ham fans who largely gave him a warm welcome at the Boleyn ground yesterday.

Both Slaven Bilic and David Sullivan called for a warm welcome and respect for the former  Hammers manager and the anticipated booing by the media did not materialise and the match continued without incident. Former Hammer Jermain Defoe got a more hostile reception than Big Sam.

Sam, speaking on his personal twitter account Sam posted his thanks on Sunday as he returned to Sunderland.

“Want to thank all the West Ham fans who gave me a good reception yesterday! Thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club & wish them all the best”
