Bilic changed mind on Foster ‘s reckless challenge

Slaven Bilic admits he wanted Ben Foster to be shown a red card for his challenge on Javier Hernandez before admitting he got it wrong.

The Baggies keeper came flying out of goal to bring Little Pea down outside the area but escaped with a yellow card most thought on first viewing should have been red.

Bilic was among them admitting afterwards: “To be fair, I asked the ref to give a red card.

I have seen that kind of tackle a lot of times but when I saw it again, I can’t blame the referee, he didn’t do anything wrong for two reasons.

One, he wasn’t last man as two men came behind and the second thing is the challenge was mistimed and not that brutal so fair enough.

Fair enough it wasn’t, it didn’t have to be a red but we have seen it a lot of times to be fair though.”
