Talks over any new deal for Slaven Bilic are set to be shelved until the end of the season.

David Sullivan indicated before the season started he was likely to leave talks until January or the end of the present campaign.

He said: “I will give Slaven a new deal in January. “I just want to see that he is not a one-season wonder. I am sure he is not but we’ll talk next January. or at the end of next season.”

Bilic has regularly made it clear he is happy to hold on before negotiating but that he would like to have something in place by the turn of the year.

However, despite picking up seven points from the last three games such has been the level of performance that nobody is ready to sit down and talk turkey.

The display against Hull today had important people shaking their heads in despair as the Hammers looked like a pub team at times.

And ClaretandHugh was told tonight that any new contract talks would now need to wait until the end of the season when hopefully the team is playing the type of football it produced last term.

Tension remains at a high level inside the club as the team produces levels of performance which are simply unacceptable.
