Bilic must take responsibility for loss against Spurs

Former Chelsea player Tony Cascarino has laid the blame for last Saturay’s defeat at the feeet of Slaven Bilic.

He told The Times: “Slaven Bilic must take responsibility for West Ham United’s loss against Spurs.

“He set his stall out and had Javier Hernandez in his favourite position down the middle, Michail Antonio on the flanks and Andy Carroll on the bench — a plan that looked like it was working. Then, Antonio gets injured, Carroll comes on and Hernandez is moved to the right. Why didn’t he put on Andre Ayew?

“After that, Tottenham were so comfortable and West Ham fell apart. They went 3-0 down before you knew it and Bilic played a big part in that. He went for the easy option. You should go to Carroll when you are in trouble. It made Tottenham’s job far easier. West Ham were making it difficult for Spurs until they reverted to the style they played against Huddersfield.”
