This is what we want to see from Mr Carroll against his former club

Not unexpectedly Andy Carroll look set to return for the Irons at the London Stadium tomorrow night.

After leaving the big man out of his side against Crystal Palace Slaven Bilic has made it pretty clear he will be back in an attempt to sort out his former club.

The manager tends selects players against when they are set to meet former clubs as was the case with Andre Ayew (Swansea) and Jose Fonte (Southampton).

Now he’s backing Carroll to hurt the club which sold him to us for £18 million following a season on loan.

Bilic reckons the Reds style of play will suit the forward saying:  “They are not very happy with their position. They are a very good team who play offensive football, which can leave them a little open at the back.

“We’ve analysed them and it’s not only Spurs that have exploited that. We have to be very solid when we play them. They have that pace and quality up front and on the flanks. If you have a good transition and players in the right positions you can hurt them.

“Andy Carroll is definitely one of our players who can hurt them.”
