Bilic was asked how disruptive Dimitri Payet was in his last months at West Ham.
Bilic explained that he never caused problems saying he was a very quiet guy, the Croatian said he was the one who made the decision telling the chairman he had to draw a line.
The former manager said “I tried to explain to the chairman that one player is too good for a club, which he was”
“I told the chairman you have two solutions to solve the problem, one, every year you give him a new contract, every year give him a little bit more and you keep him happy or two sell him. The third option we were doing, the club or whatever was No you have a contract, you stay, you have to perform. To give credit to the chairman, he gave him a contract only six months after he came to the club so he didn’t want to do it again every six months”
“The players started to wonder, what did we do wrong?”
“I told him go to Man Utd or Juve, don’t go to Marseille!”
