Bilic: “We are delighted”

Slaven Bilic revealed his words of inspiration that turned the game against Spurs as the dejected Hammers sat in the dressing room at half time.

He said: ‘The mood was down a bit, of course, but not that down like against Brighton. The result was bad, 2-0 for them, but we played good football. OK we didn’t penetrate enough but we passed the ball well.

‘We said a few things about what we should do better when they have the ball and what we should do better when we have the ball and the guys executed that in the most brilliant way.

‘To score three goals against them, when they rarely concede, to be that brave, that compact, that good on the ball, of course we are delighted.

“It’s a great boost for us.’ He continued: ‘Goals are always key, they give you energy. When you concede it gives them energy, takes you a bit down.
