Bilic: “We want to keep transfers quiet as possible”

Yesterday Slaven Bilic appeared frustrated after name and name was bounced off him by journalists in his pre-match press conference ahead of tonight’s FA cup match against Manchester City.

Asked about Dembele he snapped “Don’t give me names. I know it’s the transfer window and it’s an interesting time for the media and the club but we want to keep it quiet as much as possible. Basically, the principle with us, as with many other clubs, is to keep it quiet until it’s finished one way or another.”

It is slightly bizarre that less than five hours after Bilic’s comments on wanting to keep potential transfer as quiet as possible until there are done or fail, the official website publishes their insider column all but confirming that West Ham have put bids in for Jermain Defoe, Scott Hogan and Moussa Dembele.

While transfer speculation is part of the fun of the January transfer window some have questioned the wisdom of the club itself releasing too much information in these ITK columns which are sponsored by Transfermate Global payments.
