Bissouma and Irons link – the facts

West Ham have not moved for brilliant Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma despite recent reports that he is old the Hammer radar.

The Brighton star has drawn praise from Declan Rice who suggested the  midfielder is alongside Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, Chelsea’s Mattao Kovacic and Manchester City’s Rodri in terms of quality.

He said: “To be fair Bissouma, obviously there is a lot of talk about him , he is a really great player. When you play against him, you see what he is like. He’s got a bit of flair about him as well. He’s consistent as well.”

Bissouma has been outstanding for the Seagulls but is in the last year of his contract and is ready to move on with both Arsenal and Spurs keen.

He was strongly linked with the Hammers after his Instagram showed a Hammers  but one source told Claret and Hugh that had nothing to do with a move to east London.

He said: “The Hammer has always been there and is intended to demonstrate that teh player considers himself as hard as a hammer!

“There has been no contact from West Ham which isn’t to say there won’t be but as things stand we have heard nothing.”

Bissouma is represented by French agent Rudy Rabba and is believed to be [riced at around £40 million.
