Blogs come to ClaretandHugh from here there and everywhere to the website forum and we always try to give an airing to those who come from a different direction whether the contributor chooses to use his own name or a pseudonym. After the win at Chelsea there were many comments and in this one from a follower, simply calling himself Del PE, makes it clear that in his view one swallow doesn’t make a summer and that the manager sshould still be on his way out!

Well played guys – it’s been a long time coming…energy, effort, guts and determination… ie playing for the badge but why has it taken so long?
Reading between the lines I am going to suggest that many of the players were “not happy” ( could have used much stronger language but this is a family thread that the very stubborn MP did not see, the obvious that Roberto was simply not good enough.
Martin comes in and the guys say: “OK we’ve finally got what we wished for, let’s go out and put in a shift..”
MP should be ashamed of his team performances before yesterday, he should have walked or been sacked. His apathy has been terrible to watch.
Many individuals are now pointing fingers at the so called “keyboard warriors,” supporters who wanted MP out including myself. In other words voicing their concerns about the state of our club and the way we were set up to play.
In the corporate world if you only perform for one week in seven you would be “disciplined” at the very least… MP has done just that and should be sacked.
Let’s see what transpires in the next few matches. I always said Antonio and Fabianski would make a difference but the transformation since Antonio has come on has been quite incredible.
I haven’t always been convinced of his skill level but his efforts can never be brought into question. MP your future is still very much in the balance but let’s finally enjoy a performance that made us smile and celebrate for a few hours although 40 points is still a ong way off
