Bookies put the boot in as Hammers slide

Slaven Bilic has seen his odds nearly halved of being the next boss to lose his job.

Back to back defeats and and quite probably the new injury crisis has influenced Sky Bet to slash his odds from 40/1 against getting the chop to 22/1 – fifth favourite.

Bookies odds better than any other yardstick show how fickle public opinion can be and that is certainly the case here with such a dramatic carving of his odds.

Slav is only fifth favourite to lose his job with Arsenal chief Arsene Wenger leading the pack at 15/8 and Sunderland manager David Moyes next at 5/2.

Watford boss Walter Mazzarri at 11/1 and Hull City chief Marco Silva (16/1) are the next in line for the boot and Slav’s relatively long odds may well reflect the fact that the bookies weigh in the fact that that the Davids are not great or quick sackers of their managers.
