David Moyes is 1/25 to become the new Hammers manager, sparking relegation fear with punters claim bookmakers.

It appears punters think Bilic’s replacement might not have the impact the board are wishing for. Slav’s sacking has sparked a surge in betting for the club to be relegated. Since the departure of the Croatian this morning, 83% of bets have been on the Hammers being relegated to the Championship.

The Irons still remain a 9/4 shot to be relegated, but this could shorten with the appointment of Moyes.

Oddschecker spokesman, George Elek “Normally fans would hope that a managerial sacking would pave the way for new found optimism at a club, but the seemingly imminent arrival of David Moyes in east London has done quite the opposite. The Scotsman has gone from being the brightest British managerial hope around to something of calamity in the past few seasons, and punters are lapping up the 9/4 on offer for  Moyes steer a club to relegation in successive seasons.”
