Boss to stick by Anderson

Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear that he intends to stick with Felipe Anderson despite the £35 million signing’s lack of form

The Brazilian was substituted at half time last night for Robert Snodgrass during the match against Spurs but Pellegrini is sticking by him for the match at the weekend against Burnley.

Thankfully, however, Marko Arnautovic – now looking fit and ready for 90 minutes action on what we saw last night  – is also available.

However, Anderson’s continual presence will be a matter of controversy among some who may feel that Snoddy is a better starting proposition

Pellegrini appears to feel differently unless he has a plan which also involves the Scot and made it clear in his post match presser that Anderson was set to go out against the Clarets.

He said: “I didn’t want Felipe Anderson to play more than 45 minutes, we need to play on Saturday also so before the game I decided he would play just 45 and Robert the other 45 minutes.”
