Karren Brady today took her seat in the House of Lords after being made a Tory peer.

Ms Brady, 45, was introduced as Baroness Brady of Knightsbridge while dressed in traditional robes.

She swore an allegiance to the Queen while being accompanied by Lord Alan Sugar and Lord Feldman of Elstree as she made her entrance.

Ms Brady, who is from Birmingham but has a home in Knightsbridge, will be known as Baroness Brady.

Earlier today the mother-of-two had attacked critics who consider consider staying at home to care for children as “menial work”.

She told the Daily Telegraph that “being at home and dedicating yourself to your family is a wonderful thing and should never be underestimated”
