West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has been handed a massive pre-season boost with the welcome news that Andy Carroll is ready to rejoin training.

The big man has been out since February, but after posting videos of himself on Twitter running unrestrained and free, he is set to rejoin the first team squad.

The former Newcastle and Liverpool striker was forced to go under the knife and it had been feared he could be out of action for a further two months.

The video shows the 26-year-old tackling shuttle runs, sprints and general ball control as he closes in on a return to action.

They also give fans a glimpse of what they have been missing as he juggles the ball before turning and volleying it impressively into the goal behind him.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic will be hoping to have Carroll back sooner rather than later after learning that striker, Enner Valencia, will be ruled out for 12 weeks – and may yet require surgery.

The club had revealed a couple of weeks back that the centre forward may be held back until October. But the race now appears to be on to get him fit asap.
