Brilliant Arthur is on a high

Arthur Masuaku made it a century of Hammers games against Manchester City – and had solid claims for man of the match.

But regardless of that, the left sided midfielder will be  determined to ensure that he simply keeps performing to the amazing levels we have seen over the last two or three games.

Since being relieved of solely defensive duties he has looked a player reborn but ironically they were as good and better against Manchester City than he has probably achieved in a majority of the 100 games he has appeared in.

He had the most touches of the game with 56, most successful passes with 27, most total duels with 12, most recoveries with eight, most take-on’s with two as well as an unorthodox display to get out of trouble with three Man City players on him.

His current form could hardly be better and he is looking forward, with the rest of the squad, with great hope and increasing confidence.

Four years after making the move to the Premier League from Greek side Olympiacos, Masuaku is feeling at home in east London and ready to go on to great heights.

Speaking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/october/26-october/arthur-masuaku-i-just-want-keep-going he said: “I’m happy to reach 100 games for West Ham. Hopefully there’s many more to come – I’m enjoying my time at the Club and I just want to keep going and playing for West Ham.

“I tried to do my job as much as I can to help the team. We didn’t lose, it’s a good point for us. We’re in a good moment and hopefully we can keep it going against Liverpool next week.

“I do think we have a different mentality now. I can feel it. Last year I think we’d have lost this game, we didn’t on Saturday and I’m glad.

“We have to keep going with this mentality to be hard to beat, and to win games.

And he is delighted with the management style of David Moyes saying: “He’s a good manager. With me he talks a lot, he told me after the game how good I was and he says good things.

“That’s very good when you know the manager likes you. I’m just trying to play my game and give the trust back.

“At this moment I’m playing, I just try to keep my place in the team and hopefully help the team as much as I can.”
