To mark remembrance day West Ham fans will be able to view a Second World War Spitfire plane outside the London Stadium this afternoon.

The Royal Air Force cadets band will perform inside the stadium and Sir Trevor Brooking will read John’s McCrae’s poem In Flanders Field in the build-up to kick off at 5.30pm.

A guard of honour will be formed by members of the Royal British Legion and servicemen from the G Company 7 Rifles West Ham Reserve centre before Joint-Chairman David Gold, Liverpool CEO Peter Moores, Mayor of Newham Sir Robin Wales and West Ham fan Matt Wollard lay wreaths in the centre circle.

A minute’s silence will be held before kickoff with the Last post played by a bugler while West Ham supporters in the East stand will create a Remembrance mosaic honouring those who laid down their lives for us.
