West Ham have no money to spend strengthening the squad when the January window opens after the club’s cash splash of over £150 million in the summer.

There has been much discussion on whether the club will trust the manager with new funds as we hover above the relegation zone.

But the reality is that the board will – as has been explained by sources to ClaretandHugh on several occasions – be relying on the manager to ensure that the players he brought in during the summer are capable of capable of digging us out of this situation.

It leaves Moyes between a rock and a hard place as he bids to get points from a series of difficult games immediately after the break starting with Arsenal away and Brentford at home.

The very best he can hope for in the window is MAYBE a couple of loans  should he remain in place with the club having made it clear results and performances MUST improve.
